FLATWATER
REFERENCE

Grades · Construction · Weight · Riggers · Colours

Each grade is finished to the same high standard with a different price point, Olympic raceable through to robust Novice Masters fleet. Five grades, six rigger profiles, full colour catalogue. Use this page to spec any Swift flatwater shell.

01 · The Common Build

Same standard.
Five price points.

Every Swift flatwater shell shares three non-negotiable construction features. The grade changes the materials and price, never the geometry, never the finish standard. The boat you train in is the boat you race.

01

Sandwich Construction

A core material (honeycomb, coremat, or PVC foam) is sandwiched between two skins. The core picks up bending stiffness; the skins pick up tensile load.

02

Epoxy Resin · Vacuum Cured

Epoxy resin, cured at high temperature, under vacuum. Higher strength-to-weight than wet-lay or hand-lay, lower void content, longer life.

03

Enclosed Seat Decks

Closed seat decks for maximum buoyancy: Swift exceeds FISA's buoyancy requirement on every shell, every grade, every hull number.

Five grades let you choose the materials and price that suit your need, from rowing in the Olympics to putting out a fleet of robust singles for your Novice Masters group.

02 · Boat Grades & Construction

Five grades.
Olympic to Masters.

Tap any grade for the full construction spec: hull, saxboards, canvas decks, and seat deck. Specs follow Swift's published material schedule for every flatwater shell from 1x through 8+.

Underweight Boats, Sculling

For all sculling boats that come in underweight, we provide enough steel weights to meet World Rowing minimum weights for sculling. We do not provide extra steel weights for sweep boats that come in underweight.

CPro & Elite Plus · 2- and 4-

CPro or Elite Plus grade Pairs (2-) and Straight Fours (4-) will normally be less than World Rowing minimum weight. If you want the boat built at the WR minimum, mention this clearly in the Additional Notes page of the order form.

03 · Fittings & Features

Every detail
tried and tested.

Lightweight carbon and PVC-foam stretchers, carbon seat tops, sealed-bearing wheels and anodised axles. The same fittings carry across every flatwater shell, only shoe choice changes with grade.

Stretchers

Lightweight carbon + PVC foam sandwich stretchers. Choice of Swift Shoes, Flexfoot, PBR, or Active. Elite-grade and above ship with all four options.

02

Carbon Seat Tops

Lightweight carbon seat tops across all grades. Sealed ball-bearing wheels, anodised aluminium axles, clear paint to show the carbon weave.

Wave Break

Optional additional wave break, screws to the existing wave break. Useful for exposed venues or rough-water training.

04

Shoe Sizes

Order form uses European sizes. Sizing chart provided with order documents, PBR shoes run small, size up 1–2 for PBR.

04 · Rigger Options

Six wing profiles.
One welded standard.

All Swift riggers are high-grade aluminium, welded to optimum design and hard anodised. Span, work height, and pitch all adjustable, and we guarantee the accuracy of every one.

01

Aluminium Stern Wing

The standard flatwater rigger. Aerofoil profile, no backstays, mounted over the foot stretcher.

02

Stern Wing: Heavy Duty

Reinforced aluminium stern wing. For heavier crews, training boats, anywhere durability is the priority.

Reverse Wing: Aluminium

Mounted in front of the rower. Cleaner catch, unobstructed recovery. Popular on 1x and 2x.

04

Reverse Wing: Carbon

Carbon-skinned reverse wing, lightest rigger in the catalogue. Available on Carbon Pro and Elite Carbon.
