01 · Stretchers & Shoes

Carbon & PVC
foam sandwich.

Coastal boats are supplied with lightweight carbon and PVC-foam sandwich stretchers. Choose from three shoe systems: Active Shoes, Swift Shoes, or Flexfoot.

Swift's original rowing shoes, Heel restraints / Flexfoot, Active Tools adjustable shoes — **Swift's Original Rowing Shoes**: Sizes 37–54 available. **Flexfoot, Heel Restraints**: solid heels for safety, rounded heels for a good fit. Approved by USRowing and British Rowing. **Active Tools Adjustable Shoes**: 2 sizes available (40–45 and 43–48).

03 · Seat Type

Lightweight
carbon seat tops.

All boats are supplied with lightweight carbon seat tops. Same carbon top across the range, choose single-action or double-action depending on use.

Single action seat (Sea33B) and Double action seat (SeaD7B) — **A. Single Action Type**: with bearings, height adjustable (Sea33B). Sealed ball-bearing wheels, supplied as standard. **B. Double Action Type**: adds an extra **220 g per seat** (SeaD7B).

04 · Rudders

Sensitive on the quad.
Retractable on singles.

The 4x+ has a fin/rudder system, just in front of the cox. There are two rudder options across the coastal range.

01 · Standard Rudder · CO402x+

Our standard rudder for the CO402x+ is sensitive and very effective, part of what makes Swift quads turn so well, and important for manoeuvring in very big waves.

02 · Optional Stern-Mounted · 1x & 2x

The 1x and 2x can be supplied with an optional shoe-controlled, stern-mounted rudder, which can be pulled up out of the water.

05 · Fins

Three blades.
Two box positions.

For 1x and 2x, three fin options: small for calm conditions, medium for rougher conditions, and a low-profile fin for beach sprint races and shallow water. Fins swap between types with a 2.5 mm Allen key.

Fin Box Positions

There is also a choice of fin box position: Standard and "Beach Sprint". The beach sprint position is 1 m closer to the bow than the standard position, so it's easier to turn, good for short slalom-style beach sprint races. It's also less likely to scrape against the beach at the start. Or, optionally, have 2 fin boxes.

06 · Wave Break & Bow Deck Hatch

Sliding wave break.
Hatch you choose.

The 402+ mould was updated in February 2022 to include a sliding wave break. There's a choice of hatch near the wave break: our standard 180 mm hatch, or our oval hatch, which is better for storing more stuff "on tour".

07 · Stern Cover (Optional)

Keep the water
out of the stern.

Our optional stern cover reduces the amount of water coming into the stern of the boat. Useful when you're stationary at the start of a race in mid-sized waves, or when wave length is shorter than boat length and the stern dips under. Also useful for long-distance touring.

08 · Waterproof Storage Bag, Touring Option

Dry storage
between riggers.

Waterproof storage bags for 2x and 4x+, attached between rigger mounts with Velcro and clips. Suitable for touring, keeps your kit dry on long days out.

09 · Cox Feet Blocks · CO4x+

Second feet position
for the cox.

Cox feet blocks offer a second position for the cox's feet on the CO4x+. Attach to the boat with 3M Dual Lock.

10 · Bow Protective Wrap

3 layers
where it matters.

From Feb 27th, 2024: protective, clear wraps for the bow (hull) to help protect boats from damage on the beach.

01 · Two Side Pieces

Two large pieces, one on either side of the boat, from the deck joint down to the keel, overlapping each other along the keel.

02 · Keel Reinforcement

An extra piece: 10 cm wide, 100 cm long: attached along the keel from the top of the bow, so there are 3 layers in the most important area.

03 · Material

The material is TPU 6.5 mil type: clear, durable, beach-tested.

11 · BowTuff Protective Tape

5 cm × 60 cm
where it counts.

BowTuff provides protection against wear and tear, and damage from small stones and shells on the keel in the bow area, especially when finishing on beaches. 5 cm wide and 60 cm long.
